I have a confession. I kinda like it when I come across a bad reader response to my books and the things the reader hates are the things I found most important. Like if you read Rampant and you had a problem with the wholesale slaughter of a bunch of endangered creatures — congratulations. You got the point. I’m sorry if you would have preferred it was easy and uncomplicated for a bunch of modern teenage girls to go on an animal killing spree, if the unicorns had been unremittingly evil and deserved extinction.

I don’t know who would write that book, but it ain’t me.
